This is the first of two books of the Huangdi Neijing medical texts out of a total of 32 Jade books made for the Qing Emperor.  The provenance most likely traces to the estate of William Gibbs who purchase the book in Taiwan in 1955. 12 of the original 32 are known to be in the Forbidden city in Beijing. This book is one of the largest imperial jade books made. It has 16 beautiful 24k Gold inlaid Green Jade pages framed in gold threaded silk.  It is the only one known to have the original case.  Pages are 9" x 5.5" in size. Most jade books are simple Buddhist texts. This book is much more collectible as it is one of two Medical texts known to exist.
