This 1987 Canadian Loon Dollar proof coin, crafted by the Royal Canadian Mint, commemorates the first year of the iconic 'loonie' design by Robert-Ralph Carmichael. Struck from pure nickel and electroplated with bronze, this 11-sided coin has a diameter of 26.5 mm, weighs 7.0 g, and is 2.0 mm thick. It comes in its original blue velvet presentation case, bearing the embossed maple leaf emblem, and includes an insert describing its specifications.
