The city of Regina is the capital and the largest city in Saskatchewan, Canada. Originally a hunter's camp and heralded as Pile O'Bones due to the heaps of bones that were left there after buffalos were skinned and cut. After World War II, the city of Regina experienced a drastic expansion to become a major hub of transportation, agriculture, and manufacture. In 1982 The Royal Canadian Mint released a commemorative coin for Regina made from 50% silver and 50% copper. The reverse design features a bison skull with the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in the background and was designed by Huntley Brown. The obverse comes with an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This 1982 Canada The City of Regina Centennial Proof .50 Silver Dollar Coin makes a great addition to any coin collection.
