On April 9th, 1917, the Canadian Army launched an assault on a small hill in France during World War I. Six days later, the Canadians took Vimy Ridge, which was a turning point in the war.
The Vimy Ridge 2002 5-Cent Sterling Silver Coin honours those brave, victorious Canadians. Its reverse depicts the towering pylons of the Vimy Ridge Memorial. In the foreground is one of the monument's most important elements, a heroic figure of Canada brooding over the graves of her valiant dead.

This silver dollar commemorates the 125th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The design features a mounted police officer in a 1900s uniform.
In 1873, the Canadian government established the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to bring law and order to the country's Western Frontier. This momentous event is celebrated in this 1998 125th Anniversary of the RCMP Sterling Silver Dollar Coin. The coin features an image of a RCMP officer in original uniform, riding a horse. On the left side of the horse are the dates 1873 and 1998. This coin offers a beautiful way to recognize the efforts of the RCMP in Canada.
