Vintage handmade Double Wedding Ring quilt in the classic interlocking-rings pattern, measuring approximately 90" x 75". Each ring is pieced from dozens of colourful scrap fabrics, including florals, stripes, plaids, gingham, houndstooth, paisleys and bold mid-century mod prints, set on a crisp white ground. The rings are joined with four-patch cornerstones in two shades of green and finished with a wide lime-green border. The quilt has crosshatch quilting across the white background and quilted lines along the border. The fabric mix, including novelty and op-art style prints, points to the 1960s-1970s. The quilt is in good vintage condition with bright colours overall, with a few light spots and minor discoloration on some patches consistent with age. | | *The Double Wedding Ring is one of the most beloved and technically demanding traditional quilt patterns, with its curved piecing requiring considerable skill. A circa 1930 hand quilted Double Wedding Ring quilt in full size is offered at US $485, and a vintage hand stitched and hand quilted Double Wedding Ring quilt of nearly identical size, 90" x 76", is listed at US $160. Scrap-pieced examples with a wide variety of period fabrics are especially appealing to collectors of vintage textiles.

Shipping Charges will be calculated once the Auction has closed and will be added to the invoice once pick-ups are completed. We ship through Canada Post, which means we only ship within the parameters of their dimensions & weight. Anything won in our auctions above and beyond that will be forfeited.
Transportation fees start at $40.00 if you are unable to pick up your items on the scheduled day.
