Mary Deeprose (1901-1989) was a Canadian painter and printmaker who played an important role in the development of modernist art in Canada.

Born in Vancouver, Deeprose studied art at the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts (now the Emily Carr University of Art and Design) and later at the Art Students League of New York. She was a member of the Canadian Group of Painters, a group of Canadian modernist artists, and was one of the founding members of the Canadian Society of Graphic Art.

Deeprose's artwork is characterized by its use of bold color and strong, graphic lines. She worked in a variety of media, including oil paint, watercolor, and printmaking, and her subjects ranged from landscapes and still lifes to abstract compositions.

Deeprose's work was widely exhibited during her lifetime, and she received many awards and honors for her contributions to Canadian art. In addition to her work as an artist, Deeprose was also a respected teacher, and she taught at the Vancouver School of Art (now the Emily Carr University of Art and Design) for many years.

Today, Deeprose's artwork is held in many public and private collections, including the National Gallery of Canada and the Vancouver Art Gallery. She is remembered as one of Canada's most important modernist artists, and her legacy continues to influence and inspire artists and art lovers around the world.
