18K Gold Swiss Lever Pocket Watch – Monk Brothers, Bolton – c.1890
A fine late 19th century Swiss lever pocket watch retailed by Monk Brothers of Bolton, England, housed in a solid 18 karat yellow gold case.
The gilt Swiss movement features jewelled bearings, blued screws, and a cut bi-metallic balance, typical of quality export watches supplied to the British market during this period. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, fitted with blued steel hands. Hinged front and back covers.
An excellent example combining intrinsic gold value with strong collector appeal.
Condition:
Movement appears complete and well-preserved. Case shows light expected wear consistent with age. (Running status not guaranteed.)
