Large framed memorabilia collage commemorating the 89th U.S. Open Championship, held June 15-18, 1989 at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York. The centrepiece is an artist-signed Hill of Fame commemorative print, showing a golfer in a red sweater walking a tree-lined fairway with ghostly legends among the oaks, bordered by the names of Oak Hill honourees including Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Walter Hagen, Gene Sarazen, Bob Hope and Dwight D. Eisenhower. The accompanying pieces include the official Pairings and Starting Times sheet for the final round on Sunday, June 18, listing a field that includes Curtis Strange, Nick Faldo, Greg Norman, Payne Stewart, Fred Couples, Seve Ballesteros and Tom Kite. There is also a U.S. Open daily pairing sheet with an Oak Hill cover, 3 colour-coded Clubhouse and Grounds tickets for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th tournament days (the 4th numbered 03175), and a Clubhouse and Grounds exchange coupon. Everything is mounted on a tan mat under glass in a gold-tone frame, and the frame measures 39.5 x 32 inches. Condition presents clean, with no visible damage to the pieces, mat or glass. | | *The 1989 U.S. Open at Oak Hill was won by Curtis Strange, who became the first player since Ben Hogan in 1950 and 1951 to win back-to-back U.S. Open titles. Shipping Charges will be calculated once the Auction has closed and will be added to the invoice once pick-ups are completed. We ship through Canada Post, which means we only ship within the parameters of their dimensions & weight. Anything won in our auctions above and beyond that will be forfeited.
Transportation fees start at $40.00 if you are unable to pick up your items on the scheduled day.
