Auction Details
Step inside a collection where ornate craftsmanship, vintage nostalgia and unexpected discoveries come together.
Beck Auctions presents Treasures of the East & Beyond, an eclectic Edmonton estate auction filled with Asian art and décor, Birks sterling silver, vintage electronics, artwork, furniture, porcelain, collectibles and distinctive finds gathered across styles and eras.
Among the most eye-catching pieces are a pair of elaborate Chinese carved and gilt wood panels featuring intricate figural and architectural scenes. The collection continues with Chinese porcelain, decorative ceramics, framed Japanese Ukiyo-e style prints, a three-dimensional Japanese doll artwork, Thai silk tapestry, batik textile art, bronze and brass Asian-inspired figures and other internationally inspired pieces.
Silver collectors will want to watch for the Birks sterling silver tableware, including open salt cellars, a lidded mustard pot, condiment bowl and matching spoons — a wonderful Canadian silver offering tucked among the many surprises in this collection.
There is plenty here for lovers of vintage technology as well. Discover a Sanyo Betamax video recorder, CRT television equipment, vintage audio components, Boston Acoustics tower speakers and other electronics that bring back an entirely different era of home entertainment.
The auction is rounded out by original and decorative artwork, ornate clocks, porcelain and glassware, classical vinyl records, perfume bottles, figurines, decorative brassware and a great selection of character-filled furniture — including a carved wood sofa with gold tufted velvet upholstery and coordinating vintage-inspired seating.
This is the kind of auction that rewards browsing from beginning to end.
You may arrive looking for silver and leave wanting a piece of Asian art. You may come for vintage electronics and discover the perfect statement piece for your home. And somewhere in between, there is almost certainly something you weren't expecting to find.
For collectors, decorators, vintage lovers and treasure hunters alike, Treasures of the East & Beyond offers a fascinating mix of beautiful, nostalgic and unusual pieces waiting to be rediscovered.
